Linens-n-things is going out of business (finally)
Written by Annie on December 15th, 2008

As you may have heard, a few weeks/months ago, Linens-n-things, the bed/bath/kitchen/etc. store, filed for Chapter 11, aka bankruptcy or something similar to that. And now, that has recently been reflected in the huge “GOING OUT OF BUSINESS” signs in all the Linens-n-things stores I have seen lately.
I have been waiting for Linens-n-things to go out of business since the beginning of time. It is way overpriced for one of those “in your neighborhood plaza” type bed, bath and kitchen stores. About 75% of the time I go into my local Linens n things, there are more employees than there are customers, and rarely anybody buying anything at the cashier.
I also must say, the walking-turning-human advertisement doesn’t really reflect the style of Linens n things. I always thought of them as elegant and whatnot. The ad above looks like a warehouse sale ad.
Which brings me to my last point - why must they get people to show these ads? Yes, I realize that putting a sign somewhere is probably against the law or something of that nature, but isn’t getting a person holding a big sign more or less the same thing? Well of course not, THE PERSON IS FREEZING AND PROBABLY GETTING SICK IN THE PROCESS. Laws are messed up that way.
To close off, let me say that I am NOT saying the closing of Linens-n-things is a good thing. I’m just saying, I saw it coming.

Sharp observation! It reminds me of some ad. They tried to use body art to catch eyeballs of passerbys. But this one you found just reminds me how cold the weather was! A good catch!

Well, as they say, it is handy to have a camera ready for whenever, right?
