I’ve been sick but I’m still alive
Written by Annie on January 18th, 2009It’s been a while since I’ve written anything on here, and I have a little time now, so I guess I’ll update how I’ve been lately.
Horrible.
I’ve been preoccupied with school, and exam week officially starts tomorrow.
I also had the good luck of having been sick late last week. I skipped class and stayed home to sleep all day; normally, I would not do such thing the week before exams but I was just too sick and tired.
Like my Twitter updates will say, I’ve also lost my appetite. While it’s been a while since I did the calorie counting thing, my subconscious count for the entire weekend is less than 1500 calories. Usually, when I see most food, I must hold back the urge to grab it and eat it. Things have changed - I look at, or even smell, food and I feel the need to look or walk away. In my mind, food is a damn repulsive object, and that is just too unlike me, because at heart I am a total food lover. To my stomach… well let’s just say it rumbles.
Luckily, I’m recovering from the cold, and the headache is getting better. I also ate breakfast and a small dinner today, a great improvement from yesterday’s small portion of sweet potatoes and an egg, and even better than Friday’s cereal and an apple.
The combination of being sick and the horrendous Canadian winter snow (aka traffic disasters) outside has prevented me from attending my local politician’s skating event and my friend’s birthday, both of which I’ve been looking forward to for weeks.
Despite all this, I’m glad I’ll be in a good state by exams. I feel sorry for the one who is sniffling every 10 seconds in the otherwise dead silent room.
